Формула 4 - автогоночный чемпионат для молодых пилотов от 14 до 22 лет.
В основном выступают гонщики до 17-18 лет, которые выступают на болидах с открытыми колёсами, в которых установлен двигатель Renault K4M 1598cc, мотор с объёмом до 1600 куб. см. Исторически формула проходила как отдельный чемпионат в Аргентине, Бельгии, Франции, Испании, Италии, странах Латинской Америки и на территории Северной Америки.

Французская моносерия
Французская моносерия существует с 1993 года, до 2007 она официально называлась Formula Campus by Renault and Elf, что часто сокращали до «Формула Кампус». В период 2007—2009 годов чемпионат носил название Евросерия Formul’Academy. С 2010 года Ф4 стала частью гоночной программы Рено, самой младшей в семействе Мировой серии. В этой серии выступают гонщики в возрасте 14-21 года, которые ранее выступали в сериях картинга.[1]
С французской формулой связаны имена ряда специалистов из мира автогонок:
- Жан-Эрик Вернь — чемпион серии 2007 года, чемпион британской Ф3 и французской Формулы Renault 2.0, тест-пилот команды Red Bull.
- Бенджамин Бейли (Бельгия) — чемпион серии, участник Формулы 2 2010 года и победитель одной из гонок сезона.

- Small name and flag represent Winter Series winner.
- In Belgium 2007 championship, Karline Stala was the first ever woman to win a single seaters championship.[9] She was invited to test the Formula Renault 3.5L at Circuit Paul Ricard in November 2007, like the best 2.0L and 3.5L drivers.[10]
